LEON'S LOG aka MATILDA'S MINUTES

HOME
Important point: If we are going to run an easy schedule then we need to make up for that.
The Director said "don't let people make you rush because you will get stressed out" but he did not mean, do not pay attention. It is not sufficient to say, "I worked all summer".
If you work for Leon's even in a volunteer or "friend" capacity, keep track of what you are doing.
If you are tasked with something specific, be available from 8 to 8, especially if you sleep in the afternoon for more than half an hour.
If you are studying something, keep at it, don't leave it all to the end.
"PRIOR PREPARATION PREVENTS A POOR PERFORMANCE."

These are the minutes of Leon's Landslide, legal name, LA VALANGA DI VITA COMPANY, INCORPORATED.
Leon's Landslide includes the Double U companies, Espresso Properties and Skandalon.

It is important to have these records written down.
There will be a meeting sometime the first weekend of May and details are upcoming.

UPDATE, FIRST SATURDAY OF NOVEMBER 2018:
We are six months late due to administrative issues.

RECORD KEEPING: Leon's has been in formal existence for four years now and we have realized the necessity of keeping clear and accurate records.
Specifically: 1: Adequate Records as per 6033 (a) of IRC,
2. the monetary value of donated goods and services,
3. separation and categorization of expenses,
4. Accountability Plan
5. Exempt Purpose

We have also found that we function on a seasonal schedule which in keeping with education we will call a TRIMESTRAL schedule.

MEETINGS: We need to have a formal meeting at least once per year according to the bylaws.
This will probably happen the first weekend of July, since we are a school-like organization.
However, the gardeners need to meet the first weekend of September or October to figure out how the crop is doing.

2015 SPRING: Discussion of need and mission to meet need, attempts to formalize company.
The company was not formally organized and spent a lot of time learning about corporate and non profit law.
SUMMER: Company receives state and federal approval with the name THE VALANGA DI VITA COMPAGNIA, INC.
The name was proposed by accident.
We had tried several times to file papers with Delaware to incorporate, and finally paid an incorporation service based in DE to help us since they were on friendly terms with the government.
We were advised that names like TRIPLE Z were too common, and the title of a book about a saint from Turin was proposed by accident and written on the papers which were filed successfully.
FALL Company begins to consider its public image and the presentation of its materials.
A lot of coding was done in this time, and the first hints of a formal course on Happiness began to take shape.
2016 SPRING: Company opens bank account.
This was an arduous process involving much preparation, and many hours of attempts and failures.
SUMMER Company receives checks and debit card after a lot of work.
We were overjoyed to finally write our first check and receive a debit card after the first one was stolen.
FALL: Company forms LLC to hold money and property to carry out mission.
Again, this required a lot of study and preparation and work.
Courses on happiness are progressing and becoming more organized.
2017 SPRING: Company puts website on neocities under Italian title.
SUMMER: Company involved in real estate transactions which result in a headquarters for ESPRESSO PROPERTIES.
This was the most difficult thing we had ever done and we did pay a lawyer as well as a title searcher, house inspector and appraiser.
FALL: Company begins to landscape house in return for free rent.
Disqualified persons are allowed to rent to the company if they don't collect money.
2018 SPRING: Company has carnevale celebration in early February, more or less takes possession of premises, and rebrands website in English (following online radio station party observed by member of company.
Uploads course materials, Begins to update webpage regularly.
SUMMER: Company plants gardens from seed grants; must provide documents to a harried and disorganized IRS.
FALL: Company finally succeeds in this after six months.
THE TRIMESTERS ARE FOUR MONTHS LONG. THERE ARE BREAKS AT THE END OF EACH ONE. THE WINTER BREAK IS TWO WEEKS LONG.
