WILDWOOD MATHEMATICS DEPARTMENT

Mathematics seems strange for a lot of us because the lingo is so strange, sort of like "legalese" or "medicalese".
Just as with Natural sience, the history of mathematics shows how this lingo was developed through centuries and countries,
pushed forward by political, military and economic necessity.
It also explains some of the hot air that unfortunately developed during this history, and contributes to the confusion.
